Daniel Khamis (Church Deacon), Adam Mikhael Moshe and Ismail Berro were martyred in July, 1947.  They would frequently go to the high mountains to hunt birds or animals for food, far away from the village. These three men were the best hunters in the village at the time. They would usually hunt on the weekends and holidays.  One day they went hunting without returning to the village after two days passed. The people of the village later found out that three or four Kurdish gunmen had killed them for their hunting rifles. The people from the village informed the government but nothing was done about it. To this day the Kurdish murderers/thieves have not been brought to justice.  Furthermore, the Assyrian people did not want to take revenge, so the people from the village of Dooreh lost three of their best men.
